Campaign sources, landing pages and social drafts
Add traffic sources and UTM templates to a campaign, connect its landing pages and lead forms, and draft its social posts.
Once you've created a campaign, you connect the things that make it work: the sources your traffic comes from, the landing pages and lead forms people use, and the social posts that promote it. All of this happens on the campaign itself. Go to Grow → Campaigns (in the Signal group), open the campaign and use the Channels, Landing Pages / Forms and Socials tabs. To create a campaign first, see Campaigns.
Before you start
- You need permission to edit the campaign.
- To choose a Content landing page you need permission to view Content pages. To choose a lead form you need CRM. To draft social posts you need Social and permission to create post groups.
- Build the pages and forms first. See Content pages and Lead forms.
Add a traffic source
A source is somewhere the campaign's traffic comes from, such as a paid social advert or a partner's newsletter. Adding sources lets you tell them apart when you compare lead quality.
- Open the campaign and select Channels.
- Under Sources, enter a Source Name.
- Choose a Source Type: Organic Social, Paid Social, Search, Email, Referral, Direct, Event or Partner. A source won't save without one.
- Optionally add a Source Code and the UTM Source, UTM Medium, UTM Campaign, UTM Term and UTM Content values you use in links for this source.
- Select Save Source. The source appears in the table below the form.
Save a UTM template
A UTM template keeps a set of UTM values together so your team uses the same tags every time.
- On the Channels tab, go to UTM Templates.
- Enter a Template Name.
- Fill in the UTM fields you need.
- Select Save UTM Template.
Sources and UTM templates can't be edited or removed once saved, so check the values before you save.
Connect a landing page
- Open the campaign and select Landing Pages / Forms.
- In the Landing Pages panel, either choose a Content Landing Page or type the page's full address into Landing Page URL. The list only shows Content landing pages that are already assigned to this campaign in Content. For any other page, use the address.
- Optionally choose a Campaign Source to show where visitors to this page come from.
- Leave Role as Primary, or type a different role (for example Secondary). A role is required.
- Select Save Landing Page.
Connect a lead form
- On the Landing Pages / Forms tab, go to the CRM Lead Form panel.
- Choose a CRM Lead Form, or enter its Form Public Key.
- Optionally choose a Campaign Source and change the Role.
- Select Save.
Connecting a form here records it as part of the campaign. For the form's leads to be counted against the campaign, the lead form's own Campaign ID must also be set to this campaign. See Lead forms.
Remove a landing page or form
Connected pages and forms are listed in the Landing Pages and Forms tables, with their source and role.
- Select Remove on the row.
- Confirm with Remove.
This only disconnects it from the campaign. The page or form itself isn't deleted.
Draft social posts for the campaign
The Socials tab lets you write a draft post group that belongs to the campaign.
- Open the campaign and select Socials.
- Enter a Post Group Title and the post Body.
- Optionally add a Source Code and UTM values. UTM Medium is filled in as social.
- Select Save Draft.
If the campaign doesn't have a social campaign yet, one is created for it with the same name, so the draft appears alongside your other social campaigns. Saved post groups are listed below the form with their status.
To change or delete a draft, select it in the list, then select Save Draft to save your changes or Delete Draft to remove it. These options only appear while the group is still an unscheduled draft with no accounts chosen. To choose accounts and schedule the posts, carry on in Social. See Social posts and the calendar and Social accounts and social campaigns.
